She completed her MBBS from Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in 1990. JIPMER is one of the top-ranked medical institutions in India. She did her MD in General Medicine from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
